We recognize that these are not normal times, and that we must be responsive and flexible in light of the present situation.
- We are thus making a one-year exception to the rule that courses taken on a pass-fail basis cannot count toward completion of the computer science major requirements. Specifically, for the 2020-2021 academic year, any courses designated as pass-fail eligible may be taken on a pass-fail basis and still be used to fulfill computer science degree requirements.
- In addition, because we will be unable to offer our regular colloquium series this year, any senior who has met all other major requirements by the end of the 2020-2021 academic year will be considered to have also met the colloquium requirement. Colloquium has always been a way to gather as a community and be intellectually engaged in our field beyond the formal structure of courses. We will continue to offer some opportunities to do this in the coming year, albeit in a reduced capacity.
